Edit: I hated how the eyes looked slightly different, so I decided to see if I could make a better looking photo and mirror it in photoshop- Sorry for how bad that first photo sucked!
This is my first pastel piece in years and it's huge, 19x24 inches. It was an assignment for college, a geometric self portrait. there are little things that bug me about this, but for the most part I like it. I used a picture of myself to get started, and a mirror, but obviously it doesn't look a LOT like me now.. I decided it would be fun to style it after the NeoTokyo government's Mother security system, in her visual cyberspace interface. Basically an extremely advanced AI from one of my projects that I am too paranoid to share on the net.
It's beautiful. Reminds me a ton of not just the more AI-esque things, but of masks. I thought this was a mask originally. The wrinkles and the eyes look so neat. The image is great, slightly unnerving but quite beautiful and almost calming to me...I love the wires, the way the face is covering them also makes me think of masks...<3

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
